The Benue State Police Command has dismissed as false a media report alleging the withdrawal of Mobile Police personnel from Ayilamo, Logo Local Government Area of Benue State, saying the report has generated worry and concern amongst residents.
The report claimed that the personnel had withdrawn from the community with their belongings, together with an Armoured Personnel Carrier (APC), elevating considerations concerning the security scenario within the space.
This was contained in an announcement issued on Friday by the spokesperson for the Benue State Police Command, DSP Orchia Aondogwu.
“The Commissioner of Police, Benue State Command, CP Cletus C. N. Nwadiogbu, urges residents to stay calm and go about their lawful actions with out worry.
“He also advises members of the public to verify information before sharing it and to avoid circulating unconfirmed reports capable of causing unnecessary panic.”
Aondogwu stated the command remained dedicated to its accountability of sustaining regulation and order. He additionally urged residents to proceed co-operating with security companies by offering credible info to assist safeguard their communities.
