President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has prolonged his heartfelt condolences to the Okonjo royal household of Ogwashi-Uku, Delta State, on the passing of Prof. Kamene Okonjo, who died on the age of 96.
Prof. Okonjo was a distinguished scholar, a champion of ladies’s empowerment, and a revered matriarch.
In a press release by his spokesman, Bayo Onanuga, the President notably commiserated together with her daughter, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director-General of the World Trade Organisation, different relations, and the individuals of Ogwashi-Uku over the lack of their beloved mom, matriarch, and neighborhood chief.
The President described Prof. Okonjo’s passing because the lack of an achieved educational whose life was outlined by mental distinction, service to humanity, and an everlasting dedication to advancing girls and society.
President Tinubu acknowledged her contributions to scholarship and her inspiring instance as a lady who mixed skilled excellence with dedication to household, neighborhood, and the preservation of conventional establishments.
