Arise News anchor, Rufai Oseni, has lambasted Nigerian politicians over what he described as their intolerance for truth and celebration of failure as management.
Rufai spoke whereas responding to criticisms of his journalistic style, calling out the political class for, in accordance with him, weaponising respect to silence dissenting voices.
According to him, when one tells the truth in regards to the hardship, insecurity and dangerous governance in the nation, politicians see it as disrespect.
The broadcaster additional acknowledged that when the identical politicians smash the lives of residents by means of failed insurance policies, they rejoice it as management.
“Nigerian politicians treat speaking the truth as disrespect, while ruining citizens’ lives is celebrated as leadership,” Rufai declared.
According to him, Nigerians are going through critical hardship, including that inflation is on the rise amid worsening insecurity.
He added that when journalists ask powerful questions, politicians get indignant and label them as impolite or disrespectful.
The TV anchor asserted that till Nigerians begin demanding accountability and cease celebrating politicians who don’t have anything to indicate for his or her years in workplace, the nation will proceed to go in circles.
