President Bola Ahmed Tinubu extends his heartfelt condolences to the Okonjo royal household of Ogwashi-Uku, Delta State, on the passing of Prof. Kamene Okonjo, who died on the age of 96.
Prof. Okonjo was a distinguished scholar, a champion of ladies’s empowerment, and a revered matriarch.
The President significantly commiserates together with her daughter, Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director-General of the World Trade Organisation, different relations, and the folks of Ogwashi-Uku over the lack of their beloved mom, matriarch, and neighborhood chief.
The President describes Prof. Okonjo’s passing because the lack of an achieved tutorial whose life was outlined by mental distinction, service to humanity, and an everlasting dedication to advancing girls and society.
President Tinubu acknowledges her contributions to scholarship and her inspiring instance as a lady who mixed skilled excellence with dedication to household, neighborhood, and the preservation of conventional establishments.
The President prays that Almighty God will grant the departed everlasting relaxation and luxury the household and all who mourn her passing.
