The Taminu Turaki-led faction of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has vowed by no means to assist President Bola Tinubu’s re-election in 2027.
The faction made this recognized in an announcement on Tuesday by its National Publicity Secretary, Ini Ememobong.
The celebration mentioned experiences attributed to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, about collapsing his political construction to assist Tinubu’s re-election weren’t new.
It mentioned the minister’s message was not directed at real PDP members, stressing that it was meant for individuals who, like him, pretended to belong to the opposition whereas working for the ruling celebration
“The PDP won’t ever assist the re-election of President Tinubu. The true and principled members of the PDP usually are not a part of the shameless, self-serving assist for the APC-led Federal Government and its harmful insurance policies.
“The paramount responsibility of the opposition is to offer a substitute for the incumbent, to not therapeutic massage their ego. If in any respect, opposition events are to have an alliance, it is going to be amongst themselves, not with the governing celebration.
“This political anomaly, styled and championed as a ‘rainbow coalition,’ is the best menace to electoral democracy and the quickest means of railroading the nation into an electoral monarchy.
“We urge all true and devoted members of the Peoples Democratic Party to stay steadfast as we await the judiciary’s choice, hopeful that it’s going to return our celebration to its true house owners.
“Our case on the Court of Appeal has been heard, and we await judgement. We know that the whole judiciary is acutely aware that justice delayed is justice denied.
“Nigerians should be wary of elite accommodation and state capture masquerading as broad-based political collaboration. The election next year provides a great opportunity to vote out these insensitive and irresponsible political actors,” the assertion mentioned.
