The Kano State Fire Service Public Relations Officer, PFS Kabiru Isah Jafaru, disclosed this in a press release on Saturday.
According to the assertion, the incident occurred at about 7:39 am on Saturday.
“We received a distress call from a timber dealer, Alhaji Abba, and immediately mobilised firefighters from various stations within the metropolitan area to the scene,” he mentioned.
According to him, the workforce discovered that the hearth had unfold to a number of sections of the market earlier than their arrival.
“Several sections of Kofar Ruwa Timber Market were affected by the fire, destroying 75 permanent buildings and 35 temporary structures,” he added.
Jafaru mentioned the firefighters ultimately introduced the scenario below management and prevented the flames from spreading to different components of the market.
He urged merchants and enterprise homeowners to be alert and take mandatory precautions to forestall fireplace outbreaks, particularly through the harmattan season.
