The National Leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), Seriake Dickson, has urged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to “promptly” restore omitted names of NDC candidates in the final list of candidates for the 2027 basic elections.
Mr Dickson, a former governor of Bayelsa State, appealed in a publish on his Facebook page on Thursday night time.
“We urge INEC to remedy this apparent omission promptly,” he appealed.
PREMIUM TIMES reports that the NDC governorship candidates in Kano, Kaduna and Cross River States have been omitted from the final list of candidates for the 2027 election just lately revealed by INEC on Saturday.
The NDC management had attributed the omission to an error.
‘We’re working diligently to appropriate the omission’
In the Facebook publish, Mr Dickson, the Bayelsa West senator, stated the NDC was working “diligently” to appropriate the omission.
“Our candidates and supporters are assured that the party has been working diligently and has taken adequate steps to address the cases of those whose names were not published by INEC a few days ago,” he stated.
“All affected candidates registered with the party before the statutory 21-day period required by law.”

The nationwide chief stated the NDC fielded certified candidates, from the presidential candidate to these in state homes of meeting, who, he argued, “emerged through a rigorous and painstaking screening process.”
“We are confident that INEC will correct this omission without delay,” he said.
Mr Dickson stated consultations and campaigns would proceed in all states whereas the NDC sustains ongoing engagements with INEC on the lacking names of its candidates.
“We will continue lto fight without giving up until we are victorious,” he maintained.
