The Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, will chair the general public presentation of six books authored by Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), Kemi Pinheiro, on 20 November.
According to an announcement shared with PREMIUM TIMES on Wednesday, the presentation will probably be held on the Civic Centre, Victoria Island, Lagos.
The books cowl legal litigation, company insolvency, arbitration, the authorized career and the connection between legislation and religion.
They are Strategies in Criminal Trial: A Practitioner’s Guide; Insolvency Law in Nigeria: Practice and Procedure; Arbitration Law and Practice in Nigeria; Defining Moments: Chronicles of a Silk (Volume One); The Compendium; and MULAN Legal: Trending Issues of Law and Faith – Essays in Honour of ‘Kemi Pinheiro, SAN.
Mr Pinheiro was known as to the Nigerian Bar in October 1987 and have become a SAN in 2006. He established his legislation agency, Pinheiro LP, in 2001 and was appointed chairman of the Lagos State Law Reform Commission in 2020.
Strategies in Criminal Trial: A Practitioner’s Guide examines procedural and evidential points in legal proceedings, together with the admissibility of digital proof.
Insolvency Law in Nigeria: Practice and Procedure examines company rescue, restructuring and insolvency proceedings below the Companies and Allied Matters Act 2020.
The Act launched provisions on firm administration and voluntary preparations, giving financially distressed companies choices to restructure rather than proceed instantly to liquidation.
The arbitration publication focuses on Nigeria’s arbitration framework, significantly the Arbitration and Mediation Act 2023, and the popularity and enforcement of arbitral awards.
The 2023 Act repealed the Arbitration and Conciliation Act of 1988 and launched provisions on emergency arbitration and third-party funding, amongst different adjustments.
Defining Moments: Chronicles of a Silk (Volume One) recounts Mr Pinheiro’s skilled journey, whereas The Compendium options contributions from authorized practitioners and lecturers.
The sixth ebook, MULAN Legal: Trending Issues of Law and Faith – Essays in Honour of ‘Kemi Pinheiro, SAN, examines the relationship between law, faith and Nigeria’s plural authorized system.
The presentation, organised by Pinheiro LP, is predicted to appeal to members of the judiciary, the Bar, academia and different stakeholders within the authorized career.
